![]() ![]() I then downloaded an old program called win32image and used it to makes a clone of my original. Once again I tried to restore to the aftermarket card and it wouldn't would time out saying that it could not connect to Mazda servers. When I got home I put the aftermarket SD card in the laptop and the Mazda toolbox recognized it, said there was no update for it, but when I tried to validate, it failed complaining about the VIN number (I think it was). Started the car to come home and navigation wouldn't load and the speed signs were gone. I drove somewhere and my navigation was working (which I only know because speed signs were showing in the hud). ![]() Used the copy and paste method to make my clone and been running with that backup card until today (so almost a month). Now the card shows as valid and works fine. So I erased the card and copied over from the good card. But once installed, it seemed to have the new maps (based on size), but still comes up Invalid in the diagnostic. First thing I noticed was that there was no long download time so obviously the maps are stored locally on my PC. So the only thing invalid is the Factory license.įor this card, I let Mazda Toolbox install the new maps. I thought I needed to do a Restore to it, but just the copy made it work. I ran the Toolbox and it shows the map is current and the card is now valid. So I took the "invalid" SD card copy and erased it and then copied over the contents of the newly updated card. Is it possible that it detects the older map and the license validity is just for the new map? It told me there was an update, but also the SD diagnostic said that the license was invalid, although the card still works fine in the car. not my computer.Īfter I did the new map install, I ran Mazda Toolbox with one of the copies, which had not been updated. The interesting thing is now when I run Mazda Toolbox on either the Windows 7 machine or the Windows 10 machine, it will show a prior backup and today's backup. I first created a backup, named it Backup022117 (today) and then installed the new map. I installed Mazda Toolbox and when I logged in it said there was a new map so I installed it. I have a new machine running Windows 10 Pro. I had been running Mazda Toolbox on a Windows 7 Pro machine. I then copied the contents of the card to another card and then ran Restore on the second card. When I last updated the maps, I created a subsequent backup. the original, which I keep out of the car, one copy in the car and a third in the glove box in case the card being used gets hosed. ![]()
